The exhibition “Polish science in the interwar period” presenting selected profiles of eminent Polish scientists who have made a significant contribution to the development of Polish and world science can be seen at the Pomeranian Academy in Słupsk. The opening of the exhibition was attended by the deputy minister of science and higher education, Piotr Müller.
The group of 52 Polish scientists, inventors and discoverers includes Ludwik Hirszfeld, the author of blood group determinations, Eugeniusz Romer, creator of modern cartography, Gabriel Narutowicz, creator of the first European hydroelectric power plants, Stefan Bryła, creator of the first welded bridge and Rudolf Gundlach, inventor of the tank periscope.
The project was created as part of celebrating the 100th anniversary of Polish independence. The exhibition, prepared by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, will also be available at other academic centers throughout Poland.
