Polish scientific instruments aboard the Longjiang-2 lunar probe operate without a hitch – informs the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences, which was responsible for the development of the apparatus.

The Longjiang-2 spacecraft, launched into space on May 20, 2018 from the Xichang spaceport in China, has on board a radio device for observing the universe. It was made by research teams from the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the National Center for Space Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Tests of equipment in space showed that the instruments are working properly. After calibration measurements, the device will start regular scientific observations.

Polish works are carried out as part of the “Discovering the Sky at Longest Wavelength-Pathfinder” project. Cooperation between the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Chinese partners was financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
