The article by Prof. Mariusz Mamiński from the Institute of Wood Sciences and Furniture at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) was published on the cover page of the Polymers journal. The publication was co-authored by Prof. Paweł Parzuchowski from the Warsaw University of Technology (PW).
According to SGGW, the article concerns new polymeric catalysts for cycloaddition of carbon dioxide to ethylene oxide. Issues related to the conversion of carbon dioxide into useful chemical compounds and polymer materials are now in the center of interest of many research centers.
The assumption of the work of Prof. Mariusz Mamiński from SGGW and Prof. Paweł Parzuchowski from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology was to create an optimal reaction environment for gaseous substrates in the form of a CO2-polysiloxane matrix combined with a hyperbranched polyglycerol core with catalytic centers.
