Polish scientists win in the CHANSE competition

The transformations of social relations resulting from the digitization of homes, the popularization of knowledge about health in the 20th and 21st centuries and challenges for work safety in the times of digital transformation will be dealt by scientists awarded in the CHANSE competition. Scientists from Poland will take part in 12 out of 26 selected projects.

CHANSE (Collaboration of Humanities and Social Sciences in Europe) is one of three international ERA-NET programs coordinated by the NCN.

366 applications were submitted in the CHANSE competition “Transformations: Social and cultural dynamics in the digital age”, 90 were qualified for the second stage, and among them 26 winning projects were selected. The winners include 12 research teams from Poland with DigiPatch project headed by a Polish leader – Prof. Małgorzata Kossowska from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The aim of the project is to investigate the role of electronic media in moving away from an open society towards a “patchwork” society based on closed groups, with a strong identity and strong intra-group ties.
