Four research teams from Poland became the laureates of the competition organized by the HERA consortium (Humanities in the European Research Area). 203 international research applications were submitted in the Public Spaces: Culture and Integration in Europe competition.

Polish winning 20 projects include: BESTROM: Over stereotypes: cultural exchange and Roma people’s contribution to the European public space led by Dr Anna Piotrowska (Jagiellonian University). HCPubS: Healthcare as a Public Space: Integration and social diversity in the context of access to healthcare in Europe led by Prof. Paweł Łuków (University of Warsaw). FestiVersities: European music festivals, public spaces and cultural diversity led by Dr Karolina Golemo (Jagiellonian University) and en/counter/points: en/counter/points: contact, culture and (re)negotiating in the public space led by Dr Grażyna Szymanska-Matusiewicz (University of Warsaw).
