The Sejm adopted a parliamentary bill establishing the Łukasiewicz Research Network. It will join 37 research institutes and the Polish Center for Technology Development and will start its activities on April 1, 2019. The Centre will conduct key research from the point of view of the interests of the state.
The primary goal of the network is to coordinate the activities of various institutes. Until now they have been dispersed, losing their potential. The network, thanks to its design, will serve to integrate these potentials, as well as the effectiveness of organizational activities – said Deputy Minister of Science Piotr Dardziński, government plenipotentiary for the reform of the operation of research institutes.
The basic tasks of the network are to conduct application research and development works and to provide the transfer of knowledge to the economy, which are particularly important for the country’s economic and innovation policy.
