The Polish Senate passed a resolution declaring 2022 the Year of Botany. In this way, it honored Polish botanists and their achievements, as well as appreciated the civilization importance of this field of science. 

The announcement of the year 2022 as the Year of Botany is the result of the efforts of the Polish Botanical Society, which celebrates its 100th anniversary next year. The Senate of the Republic of Poland unanimously adopted a resolution on proclaiming 2022 the Year of Botany, in this way to honor Polish botanists and their achievements, as well as to appreciate the civilization importance of this field of science.

The culmination of the Celebration of the Year of Botany will be the LIX Congress of the Centenary of the Polish Botanical Society “Amor plantarum nos unit – love of plants binds us”, which will be held in Warsaw on June 27 – July 3, 2022. The sessions of this Congress will be held at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. The jubilee celebrations scheduled for June 28, 2022 will be held at the University of Warsaw.
