The Polish Society for Social Communication elected the winners of the second Karol Jakubowicz Prizes. The prizes were awarded to Dr Małgorzata Adamik-Szysiak from the Journalism Department of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin for the book “Strategies for communicating political subjects in Poland in social media” and Dr Maria Łoszewska-Ołowska from the Department of Media Law at the University of Warsaw for the work “Prohibition of publishing data and the image of public figures suspected or accused of a crime in the press”.
Karol Jakubowicz Media and Democracy Prize has been granted since 2017 on the initiative of the Małgorzata Semil-Jakubowicz foundation with the support of the Polish Society of Social Communication.
The aim of the Prize is to commemorate an outstanding researcher and media practitioner, an expert of the State Radio and Television Council, UNESCO, chairman of the Management Committee for Media and New Communication Services of the Council of Europe.
