21 teams of the world took part in the international Mars rover competition. During the third Indian Rover Challenge, the team of the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH Space Systems) won the competition, and the University of Warsaw Rover Team took the second place.
The Indian Rover Challenge is a robotics competition aimed at students, graduates and secondary school students worldwide. One of its goals is to encourage young engineers to work out innovations, solutions and technologies related to space exploration.
Participants presented their rovers during four competition tasks including scientific analysis of soil samples, driving on difficult terrain, operating the control panel using a remote-controlled arm and autonomous travel.
