The Polish company Handerek Technologies has created a technology that converts plastic waste into diesel and gasoline fractions. The produced fuel can be used to drive traditional internal combustion engines.
The technology was awarded during the European Start-Up Days 2018 in Katowice.
– Plastic waste is a global problem. We have collected around 5 billion tons of plastic waste around the world. It is stored on the soil, it pollutes the seas and oceans – says Adam Hańderek, the founder of Handerek Technologies. In his opinion, the cost of producing 1 liter of fuel fractions from polyolefin waste is approx. EUR 0.13.
– We do not compete on the fuel market, we want to help in the management of plastic waste, and the fuel market is a natural recipient of our solution- he adds.
