The Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin (PUM) signed a cooperation agreement with the Lithuanian University of Vilnius. The agreement concerns, joint research, exchange of scientific and didactic staff and students.
Last year, the PUM delegation visited Vilnius University, which has long been involved in joint research in the field of hereditary cancers. Now, thanks to the agreement, their cooperation will be extended to new areas, including congenital metabolic diseases and medical history.
The Vilnius University was founded in 1579 by King Stefan Batory. Today it is on the list of the 500 best universities in the world and is the largest high school in Lithuania. It has 12 departments, 10 research centers, 3 hospitals, an astronomical observatory and over 25,000 students.
