The Medical Research Agency awarded the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin with three grants as part of a competition for the implementation of projects dedicated to minimizing the epidemiological risk associated with the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
Professor Bogusław Machaliński will lead the project “Evaluation of humoral response in the population exposed to SARS CoV 2 virus: clinical, epidemiological and organizational implications in the field of healthcare”. Its value will amount to PLN 1,971,700.
Dr Katarzyna Kotfis received 100,000 PLN for the project “The use of mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (spironolactone) in the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis associated with SARS CoV-2 infection”. Dr Jerzy Sieńko will implement the project entitled “Analysis of ACE2 polymorphisms in the assessment of the severity of the clinical course of COVID-19”.
