16.04.2020

The Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin received a grant of PLN 13 million from the Ministry of Health for the purchase of a da Vinci medical robot. It is a system of devices facilitating the performance of complex minimally invasive surgical procedures.

Thanks to this device, operations will be carried out with unprecedented precision calculated in millimeters and completely free of the risk of trembling hands of the surgeon. Patients will benefit the most, because the surgery time will be significantly reduced, the risk of infections and complications will also decrease, and blood loss will be marginal. The patient will return to daily activities faster than after traditional surgery, and his hospital stay will be shortened by an average of 40%.

In Szczecin, da Vinci robotics will be used for the patients of the Clinic of Operational Gynecology and Gynecological Oncology of Adults and Girls, the Clinic of General and Transplant Surgery and the Clinic of Urology and Urological Oncology of the clinical hospital of the university in Pomeranian Voivodeship.
