The Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin has received PLN 30 million in funding from the Medical Research Agency to create a specialised and modern Centre specialising in digital medicine. The centre will consolidate the resources of the biobank, the medical data of the university’s two hospitals and the university’s research teams.
The Regional Centre for Digital Medicine is an innovative project that aims to create a platform for the integration and analysis of biomedical data. This infrastructure will enable the storage and sharing of clinical material along with genetic, epigenetic and clinical data generated for the development of biomedical research driven by health systems.
The creation of the Centres will translate into improvements in the efficiency of patient treatment and their access to innovative therapies, ultimately meeting the health needs of the population and removing barriers currently present in the healthcare system.
