Vika scientists from the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia has developed the most innovative tool in the world estimating the risk of death in case of coronavirus infection. The calculator analyzes the age, sex and presence of concomitant diseases: hypertension, type 2 diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease.

– The risk of dying from COVID clearly depends on people’s lifestyle and the diseases associated with it, including obesity, diabetes, hypertension and their complications. This relationship is really strong – the latest data show that deaths among people without any chronic disease account for less than 1 percent COVID-19 fatalities – says the main designer of the calculator, Dr Piotr Bandosz.

Vika scientists, including doctors, a dietitian, a psychologist, programmers, data analysts and epidemiologists, are working on a health application to analyze lifestyle and help in extending healthy life time every day.
