Pomeranian universities and research institutes will create eCUDO – the Electronic Centre for Oceanographic Data Sharing. The project for its creation is financed under the Digital Poland Operational Programme 2014-2020, managed by the Centre for Digital Poland Projects. The budget is three and a half million euros.
The Centre will be established by the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences; the Maritime Institute in Gdańsk; the Maritime Institute of Fisheries – National Research Institute; the National Geological Institute – National Research Institute; the University of Gdańsk; the University of Szczecin and the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk.
The project involves the creation of a unified system, bringing together research results and data from all fields related to oceanography, which are held by the seven partner institutions that make up eCUDO. In the future, the database is also expected to bring together the resources of other Polish institutions involved in research and exploration of the marine environment.
