The academic community of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow solemnly began the new academic year. The event was attended by the Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, who delivered the inaugural lecture ‘From pedagogy of shame to patriotic education – pedagogy of pride in Poland’.
Minister Przemysław Czarnek assured the academic community of the Pontifical University of John Paul II of continued support for the Krakow university so that our national heritage continues to be multiplied and passed on to future generations.
During his speech, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science also recalled Saint John Paul II. This year we are celebrating the 45th anniversary of the election of Karol Wojtyła to the See of Peter.
The Krakow university was founded in 1981 as the Pontifical Academy of Theology. In 2009, it was transformed into the Pontifical University of John Paul II.
