A consortium of the Poznań Science and Technology Park (PPNT) and the Innosil company gained over PLN 4 million for research on plant inducers and their application. The money comes from the competition Team-Tech Foundation for Polish Science.

Research on plant inducers is aimed at developing and implementing a plant protection product that is safe for humans and the environment. The main principle is based on stimulating the internal immunity of the plant, not on the fight against the pathogen, as it is so far.
The measure is developed as ecological and, at the same time, economical.  Previous studies allow to obtain surprisingly good results with the minimum amount of active substance used. The project “New inductors of plant resistance and their use as an innovative approach to the protection of plants against pathogens” is conducted by Dr Eng Marcin Śmiglak from PPNT in cooperation with Prof. Henryk Pospieszny from the Institute of Plant Research.
