The Poznań Science and Technology Park of the Adam Mickiewicz University Foundation opens a genomic laboratory. A modern equipped lab will conduct research in the field of molecular biology.
The laboratory’s tasks will include processes aimed at preparation of sequencing material, mainly DNA / RNA isolation from the supplied material and its purification, e.g. isolation of genetic material from contaminated culture or from a fragment of tissue. The laboratory will conduct research, development and commercial research.
In the case of genetic crosses and transgenic plants, DNA sequencing and reading of the genetic code can be used to select individuals with a characteristic that can be transferred to the next generation. It speeds up the research process of introducing new varieties of useful plants, recognizing bacterial species, and exploring the mechanisms of genetic diseases.
