The Enactus Student Research Group from the University of Economics in Poznań won the Enactus Poland Competition for the second time in a row with the DiaBite project and will represent Poland in the international competition. After last year’s the US Silicon Valley championship, this year the competition is moving to the Netherlands.
The DiaBite project is an idea of producing quick and healthy snacks for people struggling with diabetes and insulin resistance. They are supposed to help reduce sugar consumption helping people with diabetes, insulin resistance and “healthy freaks”.
Students from Poznań want to draw attention to the problem of hunger in developing countries and the contrast against excessive consumerism and diet-related diseases associated with overeating in developed countries. They also want to donate part of the profits from the sale to the Foundation of Ankizy Gasy-Children of Madagascar, which guarantees children a hot meal at schools and provides them with free education.
