Shamiram ‘Shammy’ Benjamin, a student of the medical faculty in English at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences, has won the title of “Best International Student in Poland” in the master’s degree category in the Interstudent 2023 competition of the Educational Foundation “Perspektywy”. The jury recognised her achievements during her stay in Poland.

The winner has worked for the benefit of the academic and local community, serving as president of two student organisations and coordinator of foreign students’ clubs. She also helped organise adaptation events for new students and worked with alumni to create opportunities for clinical placements abroad. 

She has also prepared a series of documents and instructional videos for students on important procedures and formalities of staying in Poland, while promoting the diversity of the international academic community by enriching the cultural programme of university events.
