Prof. Elżbieta Frąckowiak, a researcher at the faculty of chemical technology at Poznań University of Technology and a full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, has been accepted as a member of Academia Europaea, a prestigious organisation bringing together more than 5,000 scientists from various fields, including more than 70 Nobel Prize winners.
Prof. Frąckowiak is one of the world’s leading electrochemists working on nanomaterials used for energy storage and conversion in electrochemical capacitors. Between 1999 and 2005, she coordinated the NATO Science for Peace research programme in the field of carbon-based materials used for electrochemical energy storage.
Academia Europaea was founded in 1988 on the initiative of the British Royal Society, the world’s oldest scientific society, and the Swedish Academy of Sciences. Its aim is to develop and foster scientific excellence, promoting interdisciplinary and international research in all fields of science.
