The Academy of Special Education in Warsaw invites participants on April 12 for an open lecture “On three kinds of causality in the processes of upbringing and education and their importance for special education” by Prof. Dietrich Benner, retired professor of the Humboldt University in Berlin.
Professor Benner received a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Vienna in 1965 and completed his postdoctoral thesis five years later at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Bonn. From 1973, he has been a professor of pedagogical sciences. Until 1991 he managed the Institute of Education at the University of Munster. In 2004 he became an honorary professor at the Pedagogical University of Shanghai. He is the honorary doctor of the University of Aarhus (Denmark) and the University of Abo Akademie (Finland). In the years 2008-2013 he was a professor at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.
