Professor Eng. Kazimierz Furtak received the prestigious award of “Polish Hercules” granted by the monthly journal “Builder”.

The Scientific Council and the editors of “Builder” indicated the leaders of the construction industry in 2019. The award- statuette received by Prof. Kazimierz Furtak was awarded “for many years of effective management, effective expansion of the company’s potential and competitive advantage, spirit of entrepreneurship and business intuition, as well as to outstanding Polish architects, personalities of the world of science and construction education and the people who had a significant impact on the development of Polish construction”.

Professor Eng. Kazimierz Furtak was the rector of the Krakow University of Technology in 2008-2012 and 2012-2016. He is an outstanding expert in the field of civil engineering. He specializes in issues related to research of structures and materials, construction of bridges and tunnels, concrete and wooden structures, strengthening and modernization of bridge structures.
