Prof. Iwona A. Ndiaye, scientist of the Institute of Literature of the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olszyna received the award from the Senegalese Embassy in Poland for her commitment to popularizing knowledge about Africa and scientific publications on Senegal.

In her research work, Prof. Iwona A. Ndiaye pays great attention to African issues and African literature from the gender perspective. The aftermath of her interests and work are numerous scientific publications.

In 2013, she organized a nationwide competition for the translation of French-language women African poetry that resulted in the bilingual anthology Je suis la femme-Afrique, edited and published by her.

In the years 2007-2019 she was an active member of the Polish Africanist Society. Since 2012, she has been a member of the program board of the Africa Another Way Foundation, working for the development of relations between African countries and Poland and other European Union countries.
