Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwiak is a professor of pharmaceutical sciences, conducting research in molecular pharmacology and drug chemistry, heading the Department of Biopharmacy and the Department of Chemistry at the Medical University of Lublin. From 2018 to 2022 he was a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow.

From 2012 to 2020, he was a member of the Council of the National Science Centre (NCN). For part of that time, he headed the Life Sciences Committee of the NCN Council.

“I am ready by all means to push for an increase in the NCN targeted grant. For now, I consider this to be the most urgent task and I am counting on the Ministry of Education and Science to understand this issue. Without good and pro-quality funding for science or education in Poland, we will not create a modern knowledge-based economy”, said the new NCN director.
