Professor Paul Lagarde will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Silesia. The ceremony of giving this outstanding lawyer the highest academic award will be held on September 13 in auditorium No. 6 at the Faculty of Administrative Law in Katowice at ul. Bankowa 11b.

Professor Lagarde is one of the most outstanding contemporary lawyers dealing with international private law. He is a valued author of numerous publications serving the development of this discipline, which over the past few decades have been a source of inspiration for representatives of science and law practice around the world.

Professor Lagarde has participated in numerous government delegations and expert groups that have made a significant contribution to the development of international law instruments of major importance for the development of international cooperation of European countries. The Council of the Faculty of Law and Administration decided to grant him the title of doctor honoris causa of the Katowice University.
