Prof. Stefan Sokołowski, Institute of Chemical Sciences of the Maria Curie Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin received an honorary doctorate from the Institute of Condensed Matter Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Lviv.
Prof. Stefan Sokołowski is the first UMCS researcher representing exact sciences to receive an honorary doctorate from a foreign scientific institution. The awarding of the title of doctor honoris causa to the professor is an expression of recognition for his contribution to the development of condensed matter physics and many years of fruitful and fruitful Polish-Ukrainian scientific cooperation.
Prof. Stefan Sokołowski has been worked for UMCS for over 50 years, where he received his master’s degree in chemistry (1973), postdoctoral degree (1987), the title of professor of chemical sciences (1997). He presented his doctorate at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (1977). His interests focus on the application of statistical thermodynamics to the description of various physicochemical processes, mainly in fluid theory.
