Professor Andrzej Ślebarski from the solid state physics department at the University of Silesia received a prestigious scholarship from the Kosciuszko Foundation allowing the scientist to spend three months at the University of California in San Diego (UCSD).
The University of California San Diego is one of the best universities in the USA, but also in the world. A few scientists of this university are Nobel laureates. Among them is Maria Goeppert-Mayer, Nobel laureate in the field of physics, born in Katowice and associated with the American university in San Diego.
The scholarship will allow Prof. Ślebarski for a three-month study stay at a California university in the academic year 2018/2019. This is not the first international scholarship of the Silesian university scholar. Professor Ślebarski received already a Fulbright scholarship, and twice held two other Kościuszko Foundation scholarships.
