Polish science is still underfinanced, and the proper funding is a prerequisite for civilization development of the country – said Prof. Zbigniew Błocki, director of the National Science Center.

Prof. Błocki emphasized that- “all the time we spend about one percent for research and development, and more or less half of this is spent on science. According to the head of the NCN, expenditures should be at least twice as high.

The Polish government made a commitment to the European Union that in the next few years we will reach about 2 percent of Polish GDP. This is a prerequisite for the civilization development of our country, to teach students at least on the comparable level to other European countries – argued Prof. Błocki.
