Rector and senate of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw awarded Prof. Andrzej Chwalibog with the title of doctor honoris causa. The awarding will be celebrated at SGGW on May 17, 2019.
Professor Chwalibóg graduated in 1971 with honors from the zootechnical studies at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He began his scientific work at the Department of Animal Physiology, Biochemistry and Analytical Chemistry of the Institute of Animal Sciences in Copenhagen.
In 1995, he became the professor and head of the Department of Physiology and Nutrition. On his initiative in 2003, Center of Experimental Nutrition and Physiology and Instrument Center for Indirect Calorimetry and Stable Isotopes were launched. Their main task was to coordinate the use of unique research infrastructure, integrate scientific staff at universities in Copenhagen and Aarhus and internationalize their research.
His scientific achievements were appreciated by Queen of Denmark Margarethe II, giving him the title Knight of the Dannebrog Order.
