Professor Eng. Edmund Wittbrodt, from Gdańsk University of Technology (PG) was elected the chairman of the Scientific and Program Council of Hevelianum (formerly Hewelianum Center) – a modern science center in Gdańsk.
The Hevelianum, until October 25 called Centrum Hewelianum, conducts activities for education, science, culture, recreation and environmental protection. It is located in the center of Gdańsk, in the historic complex of Fort Gradowa Mountain. The Center celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The task of the Scientific and Program Council is to indicate long-term directions of activity and provide substantive and consultative support for the Hevelianum.
Professor Edmund Wittbrodt specializes in applied mechanics, automation and robotics, biomechanics and computer methods in machine dynamics. Until 2017, he headed the Department of Mechanics and Mechatronics PG. He was the rector of the Gdańsk university, minister of national education and senator of the Republic of Poland.
