A Swedish scientist – Prof. Claes Goran Granqvist, an outstanding specialist in nanotechnology and material engineering, was awarded the Medal of Merit for the Gdańsk University of Technology. “The award is a pride for me, because I appreciate the cooperation with the University”, says Granqvist, quoted on the university website.

Professor Granqvist received a medal from Prof. Jacek Namieśnik, the rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology. The professor noted that he is already retired, but it will not be a reason for interrupting joint projects. The scientist started cooperation with the University in 2001, preparing scientific articles together with Gdańsk researchers.

Professor Claes Goran Granqvist is a retired professor at Uppsala University in Sweden. He published over 500 articles indexed in the Web of Science and 40 books cited over 26 thousand times.
