Professor Henryk Sozański of the Academy of Physical Education (AWF) in Warsaw received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism in Alma-Ata.

The title was given during the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the Kazakh university, during which the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Researchers “Academic sport: health and well-being of the Nation” was also held.

Professor Sozański is the only professor in the field of physical culture sciences in Poland who has four Doctor Honoris Causa titles. Earlier he was honored by the Ukrainian State University of Physical Education and Sport in Kiev, the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdańsk and the State University of Physical Culture in Lviv.
In the years 1996-2002 and 2005-2008 prof. Sozański was the rector of the Warsaw University of Physical Education.
