Professor Jan Woleński, an outstanding Polish philosopher, popularizer of philosophical sciences, author of a huge number of scientific publications, alumnus and lecturer of the Jagiellonian University, received the title of doctor honoris causa of the University of Lodz.
-He is an example of a committed philosopher, searching the surrounding reality. What’s more, he is concerned about the philosophy in Poland, being an important element of culture, inclining to discussions on important issues of social life, and also working worldwide- said prof. Marek Zirk-Sadowski, supervisor of the doctorate of Prof. Woleński and at the same time a former doctoral student of Professor Woleński.
Professor Woleński deals with the problem of using logic to solve philosophical problems. His interests also include: the problem of truth, philosophy of language, philosophical logic, ethics and metaethics, metaphysics, ontology and philosophy of law.
