Professor Janusz Kacprzyk was elected a foreign member (in the class of technical sciences) of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium of Science and Art (KVAB). He is the only Pole in this Academy.

Professor Janusz Kacprzyk is a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and an international class scientist who specializes in artificial intelligence tools.

His interests relate to fuzzy logic and its application in databases, decision support systems, fuzzy methods of information representation and processing, control and decision making in conditions of uncertainty and lack of precision, evolutionary programming and neural networks.
