Professor Eng. Jerzy Lis, prorector for cooperation at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, was awarded the “The Bridge Building Award”. It is awarded annually by the American Ceramic Society to a non-US scientist, who made a unique contribution to the development of ceramic engineering.

The prize was awarded during the 43rd International ICACC Conference (International Conference & Exposition on Advanced Ceramics and Composites), which took place on January 22-27, 2019 in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is one of the most important world meetings of scientists and representatives of the ceramic industry. Additionally, Professor Jerzy Lis was invited to deliver a plenary lecture entitled “Processing of complex ceramic materials by rapid high-energy techniques”.
