Professor Jerzy Łuczka, head of the Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Silesia, became a member of the editorial board of the prestigious journal “Scientific Reports” belonging to the group Nature Research Journals.

Professor Łuczka conducts research on classical and quantum statistical physics of non-equilibrium processes, physical basis of quantum information, nanophysics and modeling of biological and Brownian molecular motors. He was awarded the university prize “Pro Scientia et Arte” for his outstanding achievements in exact sciences. From 2016, he has been a member of the Polish Academy of Learning, and from 2018 a member of the Council of the National Center for Science.

“Scientific Reports” publishes the results of research in the field of natural sciences. The editorial team, which includes experts in clinical, biological, chemical, physical and earth sciences, manages the process of reviewing articles.
