The Minister of Science and Higher Education appointed Prof. Jerzy Sperka, director of the Institute of History at the University of Silesia, to the position of the chairman of the expert group for the evaluation of the applications for Universalia 2.1 and Universalia 2.2 competitions organized as part of the National Program for the Development of Humanities (NPRH).

NPRH is a grant program addressed to humanists, which is to facilitate the integration of Polish humanities with European and world humanities, and young scientists to enable the development of a scientific career in cooperation with foreign scientific centers.

The program is also intended to disseminate the achievements of Polish humanities in the world and ensure stable conditions for the implementation and financing of key, long-term research, editorial and documentation projects requiring the creation and maintenance of highly specialized and stable research teams.
