The Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak appointed Prof. Jerzy Surma for the new head of the National Center for Cryptology.

The professor is an employee of the Department of Information Technology at the Institute of Computer Science and Digital Economy, Collegium of Economic Analysis of the Warsaw School of Economics. Scientifically, he deals with the analysis and data operating in the field of social media, business intelligence and cyber security. He is also the head of the Postgraduate Studies in Cybersecurity Management.

The National Center of Cryptology is a subordinate entity of the Ministry of National Defense, dealing with the research and implementation of cryptographic solutions for the needs of Polish public administration and the army.
