Professor Włodek Kofman from the Department of Dynamics of the Solar System and Planetology at the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK PAN) was awarded the prize of André Lallemand from the French Academy of Sciences for achievements in the field of space research.
In the justification of the decision, the Academy announced that the prize is a proof of recognition for contribution to the research of Mars and comets 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko, which were made using low-frequency radars MARSIS (Mars Express space mission) and CONSERT (Rosetta space mission).
The André Lallemand prize (Prix Lallemand) is awarded every three years. It honors outstanding scientists for work in various fields of astronomy, preferring those studies that may be used in other fields of science.
