On 15-20 April 2018, the next Academic World Championships in Team Programming (ICPC) will take place in Beijing. This year, the organizers decided to honor the Professor Krzysztof Diks from the University of Warsaw with Lifetime Coach Award, for bringing their teams to the world finals 20 times.
Professor Krzysztof Diks is the chairman of the Polish Accreditation Committee and the director of the Institute of Computer Science of the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw.
The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is an international team programming competition for students from around the world. The competition is organized every year with the support of IBM. For years, the teams prepared by Professor Dix have gained the leading positions in these competitions. Last year, the University of Warsaw team ranked the second.
