Professor Matthias F. Melzig from the Free University of Berlin received his honorary doctorate from the Warsaw Medical University (WUM) during the 11th Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Pharmacy with a Division of Laboratory Medicine.

Professor Matthias F. Melzig, associated with the German university conducts research and scientific relations with scientists from the Warsaw Medical University since the 1960s. As emphasized Prof. Piotr Wroczyński, dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the result of this long-term joint work is not only the scientific development of the Medical University, but also the education of future generations of scientists and students.

The special title of the WUM was gained by Prof. Matthias F. Melzig for researching plants as a source of new drugs.
