Professor Piotr Dominiak, vice-rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology for internationalization and innovation, received the Scientific Award of the City of Gdańsk Jan Heweliusz in the category of humanities and social sciences.

The award committee appreciated the outstanding scientific achievements of Prof. Dominiak in the field of economics of the small and medium enterprise sector and activities that led to the creation in Gdańsk of a thriving center of economic research.

– Professor Piotr Dominiak, through the implementation of valuable and internationally-valued scientific research, as well as training of scientific staff and popularization of economic knowledge, significantly contributed to the increase in the importance and building prestige of the Gdańsk scientific center in the field of social sciences – said Prof. Jerzy Błażejowski in laudation in honor of the laureate during the awards ceremony.
