Professor Radosław Dobrowolski, current Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin, was elected the rector of the university for the term 2020-2024.
Professor Dobrowolski graduated in geography at the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in 1988. In the years 2011–2016 he was the first dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management at UMCS, and in 2011 he became the director of the Institute of Earth Sciences at the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences at UMCS. He is currently a scholar of the Institute of Geomorphology and Paleogeography of this Institute. Since 2016, he has been the Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation.
In scientific activity, he deals with geology and structural geomorphology of the Lublin-Volhynia highlands. He has published over 220 scientific articles, 2 books, 20 chapters in monographs and about 100 conference publications. He completed scientific internships at the University of Olomouc and twice at the University of Lviv.
