Professor Marek Samoć received from the French Chemical Society (SCF) the French-Polish Scientific Award 2019.
The prize was awarded for outstanding achievements in the field of non-linear optical properties of inorganic and organometallic compounds, conjugated polymers and quantum dots.
Professor Eng. Marek Samoć in 2016 received the Award of the Foundation of Polish Science in the field of chemical sciences and materials for research on nanostructured materials for nonlinear optics. He is also the laureate of the WELCOME (2008) and MASTER (2013) programs.
Marek Samoć started his scientific career at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, where he received his PhD and postPhD title. In the 1980s he conducted research at Dartmouth College and at the University of Buffalo (USA). From 1991 to 2008 he worked at the Center of Laser Physics at the Australian National University in Canberra (Australia). Professor is a member of the National Science Center Council.
