Professor Włodzimierz Borodziej from the Historical Institute of the University of Warsaw (UW) received an international research award granted by the Max Weber Foundation at the Historical College in Munich.

The winners of the prize include outstanding scientists conducting international activities in the humanities and social sciences. They receive 30,000 Euro and invitation to a research stay in Munich.

\Włodzimierz Borodziej is a highly valued researcher, closely cooperating with German science as a scientist and as an organizer of science – explained Hans van Ess, chairman of the jury and president of the Max Weber Foundation.
Professor Włodzimierz Borodziej is a graduate of the University of Warsaw. Since graduation, he has been working for the Historical Institute of the University of Warsaw. In the years 1999–2002 he was the Vice-Rector of the University of Warsaw.
