On December 16 Professor Grzegorz Wrochna was appointed by the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki as the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Science.
The new deputy minister is a professor of physical sciences. In the years 1986–1991 he worked at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, cooperated with the DESY centers in Hamburg and CERN in Geneva.
In 1991–1998 at CERN he participated in the design and construction of the CMS experiment at the LHC Large Hadron Collider.
From 1999 he worked at the Institute for Nuclear Studies, and from 2006 he was its director. He is one of the initiators of the establishment of the National Center for Nuclear Research in 2011 and its director until 2015.
