PhD students of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences have received over 400,000 PLN for their research. Their projects will be financed from the Preludium 15 call of the National Science Center.
Katarzyna Godlewska will implement the project “The mechanism of action of novel plant extracts and their effect on Arabidopsis thalian stress resistance”. 210 thousand PLN will be used to examine the possibility of using higher plants for the production of biostimulants for arable crops.
Grzegorz Bury received 196 thousand PLN for “Determination of precise orbits of GNSS satellites based on combined laser and microwave solutions”. For the determination of orbits, the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data is used as standard system. The PhD student developed a methodology for their determination with the use of the laser technology. The project will analyze errors of measurements to suggest one solution for both types of observations.
