The team of programmers from the University of Wroclaw (UW) won a silver medal during the World Team Programming Championships. The team of the University of Moscow won the competition. The teams from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Tokyo the University of Warsaw also received golden medals.
This year’s finals took place on April 4 in Portugal. University of Warsaw team: Anadi Agrawal, Michał Górniak and Jarosław Kwiecień solved 8 tasks, which brought them sixth place and silver medal (4 medals of each colour were awarded).
The World Team Programming Championships are the largest and most prestigious programming competitions. 50,000 students from 3,000 world universities fought for qualifiers to the finals. The competition consists of three-person teams that solve algorithmic tasks based on real IT problems, practicing cooperation, creativity and the ability to act under time pressure.
